1. Acceptance of these Terms
By registering for or using MyKaniko, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. What MyKaniko is
MyKaniko is a marketplace that connects vehicle owners (“Customers”) with independent service providers (“Mechanics”). We provide the technology platform that enables bookings, matching, communication, and payment. We are not a party to the service agreement between a Customer and a Mechanic, and we do not ourselves perform vehicle services. Mechanics are independent providers, not our employees.
3. Accounts & MPIN
- You must provide accurate registration details and keep them up to date.
- You secure your account with a 6-digit MPIN. You are responsible for keeping your MPIN and device secure and for activity under your account.
- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
- One person may hold only one account per role.
4. Bookings & scheduling
When you submit a service request, nearby Mechanics may offer to take the job, and you choose which Mechanic to book. You can indicate a scheduling preference:
- Urgent — as soon as possible, subject to a surcharge;
- Today / Anytime and Preferred Schedule — at the standard price, with no surcharge.
A scheduling preference is a soft signal to help matching; it is not a guaranteed appointment time. You may not hold more than one active request or booking for the same vehicle at once.
5. Pricing & what's included
Service prices are shown in the app before you confirm a booking and may vary by vehicle type, service tier, and urgency.
Service only — parts are not included. The service fee covers labour and service only. Consumables and parts (for example engine oil, filters, spark plugs, brake fluid, and coolant) are not included and are arranged separately. You must acknowledge this before submitting a request. Any adjustment for parts you supply yourself is informational and does not change the platform service fee.
6. Payments, wallet & commission
- Customers pay the service fee for a booking as shown in the app.
- Mechanics maintain a wallet. When a booking is accepted, the platform commission is held; it is only debited when the booking is settled as completed.
- MyKaniko charges a platform commission on completed bookings. The applicable rate is shown to Mechanics in the app.
- Wallet top-ups and payments are processed by our licensed payment provider. Top-ups are generally non-refundable except as required by law.
7. Completion & disputes
When a Mechanic finishes a job, they submit proof of work (photos and a short engine-on video). The booking then moves to awaiting your confirmation:
- You can confirm completion, which settles the booking; or
- You can report an issue, which opens a dispute and freezes settlement until it is reviewed.
If you take no action within 3 days of the Mechanic submitting proof, the booking is automatically confirmed and settled. Disputes are reviewed and resolved by our team, who may complete or cancel the booking based on the evidence.
8. Cancellations & cooldowns
Bookings may be cancelled subject to the rules in the app. To keep the marketplace reliable:
- Mechanics who cancel accepted bookings may be subject to a temporary cooldown during which they cannot join new jobs, and to escalating penalties for repeated cancellations.
- If a Mechanic becomes unavailable, an eligible request may automatically re-open so you can choose another Mechanic.
- Repeated no-shows or abusive cancellation behaviour may lead to suspension.
9. Additional terms for Mechanics
- You must submit truthful application documents (government ID, selfie, NBI clearance, COE, and NC II certificate) and pass our review before offering services.
- You must be legally able to perform the services and carry them out with due skill and care.
- You must complete jobs you accept, log parts accurately, and submit genuine proof of work.
- You are responsible for your own taxes and any licences required for your work.
10. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Provide false information or impersonate another person;
- Use the platform for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful;
- Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users or our staff;
- Circumvent the platform to avoid fees, or arrange payment off-platform to evade commission or protections;
- Upload false proof of work, tamper with pricing, or abuse the wallet, dispute, or cancellation systems; or
- Interfere with, reverse-engineer, or attempt to disrupt the app or its security.
11. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we verify Mechanic applications, we do not guarantee the quality, safety, or outcome of any service performed by a Mechanic, who is an independent provider responsible for their own work.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyKaniko is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform or from services provided by a Mechanic. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Philippine law.
12. Suspension & termination
You may stop using MyKaniko at any time and request account deletion (see our Account Deletion page). We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or engage in fraud or abuse. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as payment obligations, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will continue to apply.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of MyKaniko is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the proper courts of the Philippines.
